Product Introduction

Roxadustat is the world’s first oral hypoxia-inducible factor prolyl hydroxylase inhibitor (HIF-PHI) and is indicated for the treatment of anemia caused by chronic kidney disease (CKD), including both dialysis and non-dialysis patients. Roxadustat works by mimicking a low-oxygen environment, stabilizing hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF), which regulates downstream genes. This includes upregulating erythropoietin (EPO), its receptor, and genes related to hepcidin, promoting EPO production to near-physiological levels. It lowers hepcidin levels and enhances iron absorption and utilization, thereby comprehensively stimulating red blood cell production and effectively treating anemia. Roxadustat and other HIF-PHI drugs are recommended by major Chinese guidelines such as the Clinical Practice Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Renal Anemia in China, the Chinese Consensus on Management of Chronic Heart Failure in Dialysis Patients, the CSCO Guidelines for Tumor-Associated Anemia, and the Chinese Expert Consensus on Chemotherapy-Related Anemia.

Roxadustat Capsules were approved for marketing on December 17, 2024. They have passed bioequivalence evaluation, matching the original innovator product in quality and efficacy, while offering excellent prices.
