Xinkang^® Lacosamide Injection is China’s first approved third-generation antiepileptic injectable and the only drug that selectively targets the slow inactivation state of voltage-gated sodium channels. By promoting this slow inactivation and blocking persistent sodium currents, it effectively halts sustained high-frequency neuronal firing, maximizes sodium channel slow inactivation, reduces overall channel availability, and lowers neuronal excitability. With ideal pharmacokinetic properties tailored for postoperative use in neurosurgery, Xinkang® does not impair liver, kidney, or respiratory functions, thereby minimizing surgical risks. It is recommended as a first-line treatment in the 2021 Chinese Expert Consensus on the Use of Antiepileptic Drugs in the Perioperative Period of Craniocerebral Surgery.
