Mirabegron besylate Tablets

Mirabegron is a potent and selective beta3-adrenoceptor agonist. It works by activating beta-3 adrenergic receptors in the detrusor smooth muscle of the bladder. This activation increases cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) concentrations, which leads to relaxation of the bladder muscle during the storage phase of the fill-void cycle. By relaxing the bladder, mirabegron increases bladder capacity.

Mirabegron is indicated for the treatment of overactive bladder (OAB) with symptoms of urge urinary incontinence, urgency, and urinary frequency. It can be used as monotherapy or in combination with other agents. It is administered as an extended-release tablet taken once daily. As the first beta-3 agonist approved for OAB, mirabegron offers a distinct mechanism of action compared to antimuscarinic agents, providing an effective option for managing the symptoms of an overactive bladder.
